Essential Oils homemade gifts!

Who doesn't love a good sugar scrub to help your skin look smooth and fresh during this winter month? I love the way my skin feels after using the scrub; soft and moisturized! However, I hate paying the price for the scrubs! I would never buy it for full price and then when they went on sale they never had my favorite scent (lavender and vanilla). Who wants to spend $9.00 and then feel like you smell bad...I don't care how great my skin might feel, if I smell bad it's not worth it! Thankfully, Pintrest came into my life and I found a new recipe for sugar scrubs and I can now make my own for a fraction on the cost!. Also, I now know what's in my scrub and what's going on my skin (therefore also going into my body since whatever is on your skin will seep into your body!) Not only is my skin feeling and looking great, but also I am helping improving my health with using therapeutic grade oils to fragrance my scrubs! Here is the recipe I use for the sugar scrub:

Sugar Scrub:
3 cups sugar
1 cup + 2tbs organic olive oil
3-5 drops Young Living 100% Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils-I use whatever oils I am fancying at the moment. Here are some ideas for the mode you might be trying to give with the scrubs
Relxation: Lavender or Peace &Calming
Energizing: Grapefruit or Peppermint
Soothing Muscles: PanAway
Spiritual Awareness: Frankincense

In a glass bowl, mix the sugar and olive oil together. Add your essential oils (1 drop at a time until you get the desired aroma). Place sugar scrub in a glass jar and enjoy! Super simple and super affective! These make great gifts as well! For a dear friend, I made a spa basket for her birthday, which included this sugar scrub, bath salts, bubble bath (store bought), and a gel eye mask! And if you really want to get fancy with everything, you can use a die cutter (I used my cricut or you can buy pre-cut vinyl letters stickers), made labels with scrap book paper, and mod podged them to the jars!

I also found this bath salt recipe on Pintrest (seriously I ADORE this website!)

 Bath Salts
3 cups coarse sea salt
1 1/2 cups epsom salt
1/2 cup baking soda
3-7 dropsYoung Living Therapeutic Grade essential Oils

Mix salts and baking soda in a glass bowl. Add you essential oil, 1 drop at a time, until you reach desired scent! Crazy easy!! This does make a large batch, so if you are not planing on dividing it among multiple bottles, I would recommend cutting it in half! Hope you enjoy your mini spa!
